The Purple Look…

For those who don’t already know this year’s pantone colour of the year is Radiant Orchid.

Blooming with confidence and warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination this captivating harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink is one the reasons why colourful makeup trends such as purple are so hot right now.

Overruling the current leaders in the bright makeup area such as orange and pink, purple eyeliner, shadow and lip colours have become a top favourite to compliment eye colour and bold features.

And with our new Secret Weapon Purple Rain Liquid Eyeliner and Mascara you too can accent your eyes and add depth.

But first, here are some guidelines to assist in your application.

With vibrant hues such as purple remember to prime your eyes beforehand, and use a white base if you’d like the colour to appear brighter.

If you have lovely green or hazel eyes purple is a must to try as green eyes will look greener and the colour also highlights the golden flecks in the iris of hazel eyes.

Darker plum purples are a great shade for brown eyes and can do wonders for those with a hooded eye shape.

For hooded eyes apply a light purple hue over the entire lid and hooded area of the eye and a darker contour shade on the outer corner, sweeping up to a light peak.

And remember with certain eye shapes you should apply liner and shadow differently.

For deep set eyes it is best to keep the upper lid lined thinly and to use a medium shadow above the crease.

For dropping eyes a dense patch of shadow in and slightly above the outer crease extending to the brow will add height.

Close set eyeshadows should be light in the inner corners, medium throughout and darker in the outer corner.

Applying liner on the center and inward corners of wide set eyes will bring them closer together and a highlight shade in the center and upper lid will compliment this well.

As a growing trend with the ability to suit everyone, what’s stopping you from trying a purple look?
