We all want the best makeup and beauty products that are safe to use on our skin!
So how do we avoid the dangers of hidden ingredients?
Well, knowing what should and should not be found in the ingredient listing will get you half way there.
So let’s start with two of the most common ingredients, parabens and talc and why they shouldn’t be found in your favourite makeup and beauty products.
Parabens can be mentioned in an ingredient listing as methyl, ethyl, propyl, butyl, and isopropyl and these ingredients are known as preservatives which for decades have been used in the food, drug and cosmetic industry for preservation; to prolong the life of a product beyond the time the product should be used.
However, over the years, reports of quite serious and scary health issues have been connected to parabens.
So what should you do?
Well, if a label lists a preservative as one of its last four ingredients this can indicate that the chemicals is present in very small amounts but sometimes this information, particularly in regards to cosmetics isn’t listed at all, so to play it extremely safe, organic products or ones which state they are Paraben Free such as ours are a good way to go.
Now to Talc.
Similar to Parabens, this mineral has created a lot of talk regarding dangerous affects including respiratory effects and therefore it should be noted that talc free mineral powders can be used for the same purposes as talc was originally intended; for oil absorption and anti-caking just as effectively, if not more so, than talc itself.
This is why our Studio Magic BB Pore Powder and our Crown Princess Skin Perfect Pores Foundation are the ideal talc free alternative, following our aim to provide all women with safe products containing hypoallergenic ingredients and no parabens, talc or mineral oil.
So enjoy safe beauty everyday!
