Brown Makeup…

Neutral colours like taupe, peaches and browns suit everyone!

But brown in particular has made a real statement this year and it has been most notably paired with metallic tones like gold, as well as soft colours such as pink and lilac!

Trending in 2014, brown eye shadow has proven its ability to not only match all eye colours but to really highlight the eyes, as well as other features.

It is also worth noting that wearing a combination of brown shades can be very flattering.

This can be seen from the many brown runway smokey eyes and bold cocoa lips that add immense volume and definition to any style!

So what brown makeup styles should you try?

Well, there are two we’d like to share with you today.

So let’s start with the lighter of the two!

1. The light brown halo trend.

To be worn on its own or to soften a bold look, the light halo makeup style is a great one to try!

Created by simply dusting a brown shadow around the eyes and then following with a peachy bronzer on the upper cheekbones and a nude lip, you’re eyes will be the stand out feature of any style in minutes!

Here is an important tip: For brown eyes, one brown shade can be used around the eyes on its own, but for those with lighter eye shades (as shown above), a lighter brown or gold shade should be used in the inner corners of the eye followed by a darker shade on the top lid and the outer edges.

2. Our second brown trend choice, is pairing a purple shade with a brown one!

To pull of this look, simply swipe on a rich brown shadow and pair it with a dark purple or mauve liner that you can softly smudge out to create a colourful smoke eye effect.

Alternatively you can add a dark violet shadow or some lavender shimmer to the centre of your lids and the brow bone and coat the outer edges of the eye in brown.

It’s also worth remembering that to work a classy winter style with a brown makeup trend, you must have filled brows and a great bronzer such as our marble blush or skin clone mineral veil bronzer!
